Leap into Science is a nationwide program developed by the Franklin Institute Science Museum in Philadelphia that integrates open-ended science activities with children’s books, designed for children ages 3 -10 and their families. Leap into Science educators are trained to offer virtual programs in community settings like libraries, museums, and out-of-school time programs to engage under-served audiences in accessible and familiar settings. If you register to participate in this training, your organization is committing to:

  • Scheduling and presenting at least three (3) Leap into Science workshops for children and families from an underserved rural or urban community by May 31, 2022.
  • Posting each workshop to The Connectory, a searchable directory for STEM programs across the country.
  • Presenting Leap into Science activities during National Leap into Science Week (Feb 21-27, 2022)
  • Completing a workshop report following each workshop.
  • Participating in quarterly calls with other trained educators in your state.

If you have any questions about these expectations or the training/curriculum, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Our state leadership/training team can be contacted at njleapintoscience@gmail.com. More information is available on the Leap into Science website, http://leap.fi.edu/

Thank you. We look forward to seeing you soon!
